The Hal Junior series

The Hal Spacejock Series

Here's how fellow comedy author Jim C. Hines described the first book in the series: Hal Spacejock, incompetent pilot on the cargo ship Black Gull, lands a job transporting robot parts from point A to point B. On his side is the old robot Clunk. Against him is, well, pretty much everyone else, from warships to desperate thieves to debt collectors to dockmasters who object to Hal's habit of accidentally setting their planets on fire. This is how another reader put it: "It's not the zany slapstick style of comedy I was expecting - more of a really well developed, fun story with interesting characters and enough real-world observations to make it a very enjoyable read."

If you're considering the Spacejock books for your kids I'd read them first because they weren't intended for children and we all have different rules about swearing. (There's no sex and very little violence.) I suggest ages 14+

Ebook and paperback versions are also available via online booksellers worldwide: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, iTunes and more.
